Bingley Grammar School

Train To Teach at Bingley Grammar School

Why Train With Us?

Bingley Grammar School, steeped in history, is a large, friendly comprehensive school that attracts students from all backgrounds as a school of first choice. It is one of the lead schools in the Bradford Birth to 19 SCITT, with a proud tradition of educating young people and Teachers of the future.

School offers a different way of training to become a teacher. You learn by listening to and observing good and outstanding teachers. Your training involves practising your teaching skills with groups of students. Supported effectively by a school mentor, you are treated just like you're a member of the school staff, someone who the school is often looking to employ at the end of the year. This route will mean you are working in your class from day one of the course.

We aim to train the next generation of outstanding Bradford teachers. Our school is committed to providing the highest standard of education for the young people in the Bradford District. We are keen to recruit student teachers who share the same commitment. If you share our vision for education, we want to hear from you. We will provide training of the highest quality, delivered by outstanding practitioners through a bespoke training package, which will make the most of your knowledge and skills. After a year's successful training, you will achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

As a lead school, we are committed to helping you develop professionally, well beyond your training and Newly Qualified Teacher year by means of an extensive programme of Continuing Professional Development opportunities, supported by access to our university partners's suite of Masters level qualifications.
