Entry Requirements

Minimum degree required: Lower Second

Minimum Third Class Honors degree validated by a British university or by the CNAA, or a qualification accepted as equivalent by the DfE; GCSE grade C/4 or above in English, Mathematics and Science or an equivalent qualification or test before the start of the training programme; interview; an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is necessary as a condition of a place on the course.

GCSE
You will need to have at least a GCSE Grade C/4 in Maths and English or equivalent.

Degree
You will need to have at least a Third Class Honours degree. We typically ask that for secondary teacher training at least half the content of your first degree is directly relevant to the subject in which you are training to teach. If not, but you have significant work experience relevant to your subject area or a relevant further degree, you will still be eligible to apply.
