Cross Country Championships - Northcliffe Park

Yesterday I took our cross country team to Northcliffe park to take part in the Bradford schools cross country championships. This serves as the city championships with the top 15 runners each race qualifying to represent Bradford at the West Yorkshire Championships in February. After defrosting the minibus windscreen and getting everyone aboard we made the short trip to Shipley.

Our runners were amazing and showed superb physical and mental resilience in what was very testing conditions. The distances ranged from 2.2km for the Y7 girls all the way up to 5.8km for the senior boys.

We had 11 runners who have qualified to represent Bradford which is amazing. These were Amelia M (who won her race), Ailsa C (2nd overall) and Florence M in the y7 girls race, Thomas J & Leo B in the boys Y7 race, Isabelle J (Y9) & Eloise T (Y8) in the Junior girls race, Daniel T (Y8) in the junior boys. Charlie R (Y10 2nd overall) & Robert T in the Intermediate boys race & Rubie C (Y12) in the senior girls event.

They were a credit to the school and a pleasure to spend the afternoon with. Well done all and good luck for the West Yorkshire Championships on the 3rd Feb at GSAL.
