Assistant Headteacher (Behaviour)
Permanent role/Full time
Commencing September 2026
Salary Range: L14-L16
Our school has been growing rapidly as we have taken thirty extra students into Year 7 every year for the last six years, and now we have close to 2000 students, meaning we are significantly oversubscribed. This growth is coupled with our onsite Resourced Provision (ASD focus) and work that has begun on our long-awaited 18 classroom block. Due to this there needs to be a subsequent increase in staffing.
Having maintained our Good judgement from Ofsted (September 2023) we are looking at the next stage for our school’s development and believe now is the time to increase our team of senior leaders. All of the team have teaching commitments, which also drives the requirement to expand the team to allow us to maintain our availability to students, staff and other stakeholders.
This is a new position to act as the deputy for our Deputy Headteacher for Behaviour, Character and Culture and it will provide the successful candidate with outstanding training opportunities to facilitate further career development in the future. This role will also encompass safeguarding.
The responsibilities for the role will be finalised with the Deputy Headteacher to ensure that we utilise the strengths of the new member of the team. The school has a very democratic style of leadership at all levels, and leaders have a significant degree of freedom under a fully distributed leadership structure.
The pastoral team itself is highly experienced and has a vast amount of knowledge regarding behaviour and safeguarding and it contributed directly to the main positives in the recent Ofsted report. Much of this team comprises of non-teaching members of staff.
If you are interested in working in a large, dynamic, busy and genuinely comprehensive school, please feel free to contact us for a conversation about the role and/or a tour of the school plus an opportunity to meet members of the team you could be working with.
We can offer you:
- The opportunity to work within a friendly, dedicated and motivated team
- Proactive support for your career development
- An approachable and supportive Leadership team and Governing body
