Ordinarily we invite Year 12 students and their parents or carers to our Options After Sixth Form evening in March of Year 12. However, as we are unable to hold events in the current circumstances, here is the information which we would usually deliver at this event.
Here is a presentation giving an overview of what Year 12 students should be focusing on in terms of their next steps beyond Year 13. This includes information on Higher Education, Apprenticeships, Gap Years and Employment:
We do mention Contextual Offers in the Applying to University presentation, and we have some more information and advice about this here:
We encourage students to use Unifrog to research their post-18 options, and here is the presentation introducing Unifrog, with a focus on how to make a University shortlist:
You can use this website to research which subjects are suitable for different degrees, particularly at Russell Group universities:
Apprenticeship advice and details of current vacancies can be found using Unifrog, and also via the UCAS website - https://www.ucas.com/understanding-apprenticeships. Please also see these presentations from the National Apprenticeship Service:
Students can arrange an individual careers appointment with our Careers Officer Mrs Durrans if they wish to discuss their options after sixth form, and students with queries about making a university application should contact either Mrs Booth or their Tutor.
