Transition Day

Our new Year 7 students have been welcomed into school this morning and are all having a great day so far.

They have all listened to the welcome assembly brilliantly, where our senior leaders and Year 7 pastoral team told them all about our ethos and how they can make the most of their time at Bingley Grammar School.

Our four LORIC ambassadors gave amazing speeches about their first day and explained what they loved about Bingley Grammar School.

Everyone has been put in their form groups, has had a tour of the school with their form tutors and is now enjoying break time and making new friends. Throughout the rest of the day our new Year 7s will be sampling lessons in Maths, English and Science.

Our Peer mentors from Years 9, 10 and 11 have been really helpful showing students around and answering any questions they may have. Everyone is being well looked after and we hope they all go home today really looking forward to September.

Mr Morrissey would like to add:

Our maths department was really impressed with the level of Initiative shown by our next cohort.

Students also received a Transition booklet, giving students an idea of the important aspects of maths that they will be using in Year 7. As promised the answers to these are below.

If you have any questions regarding maths in Year 7 and beyond, please email Dave Morrissey, Joint Leader of Maths  david.morrissey@bingleygrammar.org "
