Bingley Grammar School

Yr 10 Football Success at Titus Salt School

Yesterday evening saw our unbeaten year 10's travel to Salts Grammar. With 95% of our squad available we were always going to be tough opposition!

The game started at a frantic pace with Salts having some extremely good individuals in their line up. It took around 20 minutes for Bingley to break the deadlock as Ryan Walsh hammered home a well struck half volley following a corner. It was then followed up by a moment of individual brilliance by Harrison Lightowler after he back heeled the ball past his opponent to run the other side of him and slot home the 2nd with a calm finish from a tight angle. The 3rd was added George White who hit a superb long range shot to loft the Salts keeper from around the 20 yard mark. Jake Erangey used his size to good effect (lol) to tower home and head Bingley's 4th from close range. Oliver Wilson was the only scorer in the second half as he calmly stroked the ball home in a one on one situation to put Bingley 5-0 up. Bingley threatened throughout with White hitting the woodwork on 3 occasions and Wilson on 1.

A massive well done to the rock like back 5 consisting of Whitford, Khayer, Boneham, Bradbury & Dunn who never looked like being beaten for the whole 70 minutes.
