Year 7's First Day!
Our new Year 7s are settling in really well and beginning to find their way around.
Their day began with a welcome assembly in the Main Hall where Mr Weston spoke to them about first day nerves and ensuring they listened to their form tutors to find out everything they needed to know. Mr Foster, Head of Key Stage 3 also spoke about being part of our community, looking after each other and working as a team.
Head of Year 7 and 8 Mr Booth explained how important the form tutors were and went on to explain what he wants Year 7 to be known for. Each year group at Bingley Grammar has their own motto and Year 7’s is:
“Year 7 will be kind, honest and enthusiastic in all that we do.”
Mr Booth spoke about the LORIC programme we run in school and our ethos as well as the rewards the students can expect if they make the right choices and engage with their learning. He also covered the ‘do's and don'ts’ of our uniform code and our expectations of the students,
The students spent time with their form groups this morning, then after break began following their new timetables enjoying lessons such as English, Spanish, Computer Science and Music.
We hope everyone has had a good first day and we're looking forward to seeing our new Year 7s and the rest of our returning year groups tomorrow!< Back to all news stories
