Bingley Grammar School

School Uniform - a message to parents

Good afternoon,IMG_6261 (Medium) (Large)

We are working hard to ensure all our students look their best and represent the school and themselves in the best possible way.

This week and next we are conducting uniform checks to ensure all students meet these basic expectations. Please can you continue to support us in our drive to make Bingley Grammar school outstanding in every way.

Specifically please can you ensure students are wearing school trousers and not leggings or jeans. It is clear in our policy that school trousers are expected and we would like to avoid sanctioning students who are positive members of our community over such a simple choice. If you are unsure of what constitutes school trousers please ask your son/daughter to see their Head of Year or call school and speak to the appropriate year team.

We will also be checking lanyards and identity badges to ensure all students have this essential piece of equipment. Students are expected to wear these at all times to secure our safeguarding requirement. If you need to replace your identity card and/or lanyard which was originally provided by school, these can be purchased from Mrs Parker in A1. A lanyard can be purchased for £1, card holder £1 and identity card for £2. Please ask you child to purchase this before the checks take place.

I would like to thank parents and carers for the great support we have had in raising our attendance. We expect a minimum of 97% attendance for all students as we know missing school impacts on learning and social development. Many students have achieved 100% so far this year and we look forward to commending them in our assemblies.

Each year we have some donations of spare uniform that students have grown out of, we would appreciate any donations of spare uniform to school.

As always thank you for your ongoing support in ensuring our school is one we are all proud of,

Mr Wright - Deputy Headteacher
