The Clothes Show Trip 2016
On Monday 5th December a coach full of Textiles students headed down to the NEC in Birmingham for the Clothes Show 2016.
The annual textiles trip is always a fantastic experience for students interested in the fashion industry and this year's catwalk show was amazing! It began with tips and styling ideas straight from the highstreet which was followed by incredible high energy dance routines and cutting edge designer fashion ranges. The students were able to get lots of photos which will be great research material for their project work.
Our students were also given time to visit the Bazaar (a shopping area comprising of clothing, accessories, hair and beauty and 'fashion on a budget' stalls) as well as take a look at the stands promoting textiles and fashion design. There were several stands which allowed them to try their hand at knitting, crocheting and designing bags as well as an 'Expert Studio where different industry experts throughout the day were giving seminars and being interviewed by Prof. Caryn Franklin, MBE!
It was a fantastic and inspirational day - thank you to Miss Ellis, Head of Textiles, for arranging and supervising the trip.< Back to all news stories
