Miss Shah Shortlisted for Award

Miss Shah has been shortlisted (again!) for a T&As Bradford Schools Award!

Over the last few years the Telegraph & Argus has been celebrating Bradford Schools by holding an annual award ceremony. Schools, students, families and the wider community are asked to make nominations for 13 different categories. Recently the T&A have been in school filming Miss Shah and her students for the shortlist film which will be shown at the Awards ceremony on Thursday and will hopefully be available to view on the T&A website.

Miss Shah has been nominated for the Secondary Teacher of the Year Award by Shipley MP Phillip Davies after meeting Miss Shah during his British Values competition.

Mr Davies recognised Miss Shah's dedication, not only to her subject but also to the extra-curricular activities she runs including the Amnesty Youth Group, the Archbishop of York Young Leaders Award and the regular visits to the school from Holocaust survivor Arek Hersh. Arek has visited Bingley Grammar seven times now giving our staff and students an insight into his early life during WWII, such a valuable experience.

We greatly value Miss Shah's extra-curricular work and we are extremely pleased she has been shortlisted for this award.
