Summer Food Festival

As we look forward to teaching our new Food Preparation and Nutrition GCSE there will be a lot of changes particularly with increased science knowledge about the role science has in cookery. To kick start this the Food Technology department held a Summer Food Festival this week.

The three day event welcomed three visiting experts followed by the students holding a community event. Al the students that took part were amazingly well behaved and gained a great deal from the festival.

Day 1

On Monday we had the pleasure of welcoming Mike Armstrong (also known as Baker Mike) an award winning Baker from Sainsbury's in Keighley and Nicola Di Cristofaro (Sainsbury’s PR and charity Champion).

Day 2

On Tuesday we were lucky enough to welcome two visiting organisations with extremely different lifestyles yet similar approaches to balancing food groups and healthy eating.

Mrs Wilkinson was extremely proud of all the students and all that they achieved over the three day event. Well done to all that took part.
