SSAT Student Leaders Awards

Every year a student is voted in from each Tutor Group in the school, to join the Peer Leaders Council.

SSAT Student Leader Awards 2016These peer leaders form a link between students in their Tutor Groups and the Council and ensure that all ideas are communicated. Their primary objective is to assist in the development and running of projects that will have a significant impact in the school.

As peer leaders our students develop leadership skills and undergo leadership training throughout the year.

A group of our young leaders were so successful last year in their activities and documenting their experiences that they have been awarded SSAT Gold certificates in Student Leadership. The Accreditation is extremely hard to achieve and we are massively proud of all the group has done to win these awards.

We would like to say a massive 'well done and congratulations' to Charlotte Catton in Yr 11 and Callum Hunter, Tom Burniston and Max Williams in Yr 12.

‘As a school we love the Student Leader Award, as it recognises students’ extra-curricular activities. Our students can use their folders for their UCAS personal statements and take them to interviews - universities and employers are equally interested in the qualification as it’s a way of showing their wider learning. Employers and universities like to see evidence of commitment, enthusiasm and passion, not just academic achievement.’
