Sports Day 2019
On Tuesday 16th July, at the end of last term, students from all year groups gathered on the sports field to challenge themselves and enjoy the many events our sports department had organised.
It was a brilliant day with 704 students (over 160 more than last year!) taking part in the events.
Mr McGregor said,
"As always we want to encourage as many of our students as possible to get active and get involved - it's all about mass participation. Taking part is the important thing (although winning is great too!)."
Each form group was asked to enter a different student for each event including the Shot Putt, Softball Throw, Long Jump, High Jump, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 4x200m Mixed Relay.
Mr Swann said,
"Every student that took part in Sports Day should feel proud of themselves and their contribution to their Houses. Once again we had many school records broken this year (11 to be precise) with Sophie C in Yr 10 breaking both the 200m and 800m records!"
Thank you to all our participants, as well as our sports staff and sixth formers who ran the events and made Sports Day 2019 a day to remember.
