Miss Shah's Tea Party
On Wednesday 10th July, the students from the Youth Parliament as well as students from various year groups organised a tea party for residents of Thompson Court Care Home.
Miss Shah has been running a tea party for the elderly in our community for a few years now and each year our students enjoy a really positive experience chatting with the residents and sharing stories whilst serving others.
Our guests were served afternoon tea and drinks by our students and entertained with a game of bingo.
In the build up to the event a number of extra students asked Miss Shah if they could take part in the tea party, as they wanted to do something for the local community, so there were plenty of helpers on the day to serve the drinks and chat with our guests.
Miss Shah said,
“This year I was so impressed with the students who helped with the tea party. I was proud of the effort they made to welcome such valued members of our local community. They really enjoyed listening to the residents stories as well as sharing their own. And the Bingo callers were fantastic again! The students were a credit to Bingley Grammar.”
The event was a great success and enjoyed by both students and guests. Miss Shah would like to thank all of the students and staff who helped to organise the event and we look forward to inviting members of our local community back to visit next year.< Back to all news stories
