Miss Shah's Tea Party

On Tuesday 18th July, the students from the Archbishop of York young leaders award and a group of students from various year groups organised a tea party for residents of Cottingley hall and Thompson court care home.

This was part of their community challenge, serving others in the local community.

Students from the the young leader award raised just under £150 through bake sales to pay for decorations, food and bingo prizes!

In the build up to the event a number of extra students asked Miss Shah if they could take part in the tea party, as they wanted to do something for the local community, so there were plenty of helpers on the day to serve the drinks and chat with our guests.

Students from the Bingley Grammar school music department also volunteered to perform for the residents which our visitors really enjoyed.

Miss Shah was overwhelmed by the number of students being so enthusiastic about helping with the tea party and serving others.

The event was a great success and enjoyed by both students and guests. The bingo was a highlight for the residents and the boys running the game did a great job!

Miss Shah would like to thank all of the students and staff who helped to organise the event and we look forward to inviting members of our local community back to visit next year.
