Students see Mercury in Transit
Thank you to Mr Bridge and Mr Ashley for setting up the school telescope with a special solar filter this lunchtime so that we could all have a look at Mercury in Transit.
Mercury is passing in front of the Sun for the first time since 2006 - a rare "transit" that only happens about 13 times a century.
The transit will take about seven and a half hours and over lunchtime students were invited to take a look through the schools' telescope to see Mercury in transit. Our students were amazed to be able to see the planet so clearly and aslo some solar activity on the Sun's surface.< Back to all news stories
