The Lunch May-thon
At the beginning of May our Restaurant team launched a competition asking our students to create a delicious, healthy menu choice for them to serve at lunchtimes.
To feature on the menu each dish had to contain a minimum of five fruits or vegetables.
The competition was looking for anything from hot meals, salads, and sandwiches, to delicious desserts.
Many of our students took part and our Catering Manager Sarah Weston selected 5 winners for their choice of tasty ingredients and flavour combinations.
Each of the winning dishes was served in the restaurant, one per day, in the last week of May and they all went down a treat!

Monday - Crispy Californian Chicken by Theo Hester & Rob Andrew in 8M3
Tuesday - Chilli Burritos by Matthew Rouse in 7S2
Wednesday - Vegetable Burrito by Charlotte Lofthouse in 7S2
Thursday - Chicken Taco by Kira-Mae Haigh in 7M3
Friday - Vegetable Spring Roll by Jess Swords in 10SL1
One of the winning entries has been selected as the overall winner by our catering manager and regional manager - massive congratulations to Theo Hester & Rob Andrew in 8M3!
Their Crispy Californian Chicken recipe has been entered into the regional competition with the chance to win a cooking lesson for up to 3 people with a trained chef. Well done to all our winners and good luck to Theo and Rob for the next stage!< Back to all news stories
