Make a dress for a Kenyan child
Starting September 2014: Make a dress for a Kenyan child at our new after school club.
As part of our ongoing links with Jamhuri High in Nairobi, Miss Ellis will be running an after-school club making children's dresses out of pillow cases.
The students will have fun, develop skills and help a child in Kenya.
The Textiles club will be running after School from the 18th of September, but first your help is needed. Each dress is made from a pillow case, new or used. They can be any colour with or without pattern, all are required.
PLEASE BRING ANY UNWANTED PILLOW CASES TO TEXTILES IN THE T-BLOCK. Thank you.
Miss Ellis says:
"I wanted to contribute in some way and support our link with Jamhuri High. This year's Puggly club was such a success and I felt students would enjoy this project just as much. We have made some test dresses already and the results look great – we already have a pile of pillow cases which have been donated but need more to allow all the students interested to get involved. The more we are given the more we can make!"
