Litter Picking and Weeding at Evergreen Walk

Today Natalie Bennett, leader of the Green Party, accompanied and assisted our students and staff in a local litter pick.

A group of our Yr 7 students volunteered to help with the litter pick this afternoon and did a fantastic job in making the communal pathways around Evergreen Walk in Crossflatts much tidier. Students removed rubbish and weeds from pathways as well as from some residents' gardens.

Mr Weston and Mr Wright led by example by getting stuck in clearing pathways and many residents stopped to appreciate the work our students were doing and thank them.

Local resident Rita Astin stopped to talk with Natalie Bennett and our students whilst they cleared weeds from a cobbled area in front of her home.

Some students commented that they had really enjoyed getting involved and will definitely volunteer in the future for more community projects.
