Place2Be
Place2Be is a charity working in schools to improve the emotional wellbeing of young people.
How Place2Be works
There is a Place2Be room inside the school where young people can go to express and think about their worries, through talking and creative work. Our team supports young people by helping them to find ways of coping with difficulties, so they can focus on their learning and building friendships.
How we help young people
Place2Be works with young people one-to-one and in small groups, offering regular time-tabled support for those who will benefit most. We also offer break and lunch time place2talk sessions, which is a self-referral service. All the student needs to do is email Zoya Mahmood, our school project manager, for an appointment. This can be attended alone or with 2 friends.
Our vision
Children should not have to face mental health problems alone. Place2Be’s vision is for all children to have the vital support they need to help them build lifelong coping skills and thrive.
How we help parents and carers
Parents and carers of young people in Place2Be schools can access free advice, resources and services as part of our mental health support for the whole school. Find out more at place2be.org.uk/family.
You are welcome to talk to the Place2Be staff members at your school. Here’s who to talk to if you’d like to know more: zoya.mahmood@bingleygrammar.org or brian.padden@bingleygrammar.org
